FRIDAY: Winter Golden Circle Super Jeep Day Tour with Snorkeling
Combo Trip: Driver Guided Super Jeep Safari, Sightseeing the Golden Circle & Snorkeling in Silfra fissure in Þingvellir National Park.
Day Tour Available Directly from Reykjavík City.
Trip difficulty 2 out of 5 possible. Rated: Easy
We take our course east from Reykjavík along the tabletop mountains of the Esja and down to Lake Thingvallavatn. Here we stop to visit the National Park Thingvellir where you will see one of only two tectonic rift valleys in the worlds, created as the continental plates of America and Europe slowly drift apart. Þingvellir is also the only UNESCO‘s cultural world-heritage site in Iceland and it was here that the Vikings held their parliament and passed out judgments. We will walk down through Almannagjá canyon and to the Silfra fissure in the heart of the park. Here you will get to experience the clearest waters in the world on our famous Into The Blue snorkeling trip. The underwater visibility of the lava field stretches into the distance, on good day more then 100 meters! You will also be snorkeling with America on one side and Europe on the other, this is with out a doubt one of the most unique and refreshing trips Iceland has to offer.
After our snorkeling adventure we will dine on a packed lunch before heading along gravel tracks toward the world-renowned geothermal area around the Geysir hot spring. At Geysir we will see a variety of geothermal pools and Strokkur, the erupting hot spring, surely one of the highlights of any visit to Iceland. From here we continue onwards to Gullfoss waterfall where we walk down to the cascades for a closer view of the 32 meter high “golden” waterfall.
From Gullfoss we will blast through the 1000 rivers mountain track on our super jeep, crossing the river several times. We will race through the lava fields of the dormant volcanoes and get an up close and personal feel for the Icelandic nature. Finally we drive over the Hellisheiði mountain seeing the new geothermal power plant before reaching Reykjavík again.
This trip offers an amazing ride through the landscapes and natural forces that have shaped and continue to shape Iceland. The ultimate super-jeep combo trip from Reykjavik!.??

SATURDAY: Northern Lights Hunt - Winter Super Jeep Day Tour in Iceland
Evening super jeep tour including lava caving, lobster dinner and northern lights chase to a convenient location.
Trip difficulty 2 out of 5 possible. Rated: Easy.
Your pick up will arrive at your hotel in the shape of an enormous Super-jeep with an expert guide at the wheel. The search for the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) is on! We start by exploring the hidden world in and under the lava field located in the Blue Mountains only 25 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik. Walking down into the lava cave and discovering the marvels that volcanic activity has created in the past is a trip that everyone can undertake and enjoy. On your underworld adventure you will see the magical rock formations left behind in the last volcanic eruption and in winter the cave is likely to be filled with glistening icicles of all shapes and sizes, a sight not soon forgotten.
After our underground adventure we head on to Rauda Husid restaurant in Eyrarbakki village on the south coast where a two course dinner (350 gr. lobster and dessert) is waiting for us. Rauda husid is one of Iceland’s most renowned seafood restaurants especially famous for its lobster dinner, located 60 km from Reykjavik surrounded by the pitch-black Icelandic winter night. From there our hunt continues.
The Auroras can only be seen far away from the city lights and from Eyrarbakki we will not have to travel far until the mountains provide the shadows we need. On cloudless and clear winter evenings, with luck on our side, we may be able to spot this beautiful and elusive natural phenomenon. Vivid and bright, the dancing northern lights in the Arctic skies are a sight to remember.
Please note: Seeing the Northern Lights is highly dependent on weather conditions and we reserve the right to cancel if the circumstances are not in your favor.
Available: 15th of October to 15th of March (depending on weather and snow conditions).
Guaranteed departures: Everyday 17:30-18:00.
